It is rich in cellulose and makes high-quality, soft paper products possible. * Minimum requirements: Miscanthus is undemanding and does not deplete the soil thanks to an internal nutrient cycle. * No harmful substances: no pesticides or fertilisers are used. * Soil improvement: Miscanthus roots provide structure to the soil; leaves form a humus layer during the decomposition process in which soil organisms thrive and produce nutrients. In addition, the soil can store water better. * Biologically diverse: Miscanthus is harvested once a year, the soil is not fertilised, ploughed, sprayed or sown. Planted areas do not become bare in winter and provide shelter for animals all year round. * Local cultivation: Miscanthus is grown in Western Europe - this reduces the CO2 load from transport. Irrigation is not necessary. * Highest fibre yield: thanks to an innovative process in production, the fibre yield is approx. 65 %. For comparison: the yield of primary wood fibres is on average 50 %.
